A girl named Kayla called me and my mom (don't know why they called her looking for me) and told me that I had a complaint against me and gave me a file number.
Ultimately I called the number she said had the rest of the info, which led to Hansen Associates (or Hansen & Associates) and I was told that my Barclay's account wasn't charged off and since I didn't reply to the letter sent out 45 days ago, I was now having a suit brought against me and I would have to appear before a judge.
No matter questions I asked, the spiel was the same - my debt relief company wasn't going to have the information, they couldn't tell me when the account was opened, only the last four digits of the account.
So I agreed to a weekly payment because obviously I don't want to go to court - afterwards though I started digging. Checked their address on the paperwork, their phone number, I even called one of the businesses listed at their address to confirm their existence (no go). Then I called the BBB and that agent got me to this link where I saw that it was a confirmed scam of what was going on.
So got on the horn to my bank, told them to cancel my card, and once the payment posts I can file a claim for fraud to get it back.

I got a call too and called them back. They said it was for a Capital One account I owed over $6K on. I asked for documentation because I don’t believe this to be true. I have 2 Capital One accounts both in good standing. They scared me into believing I was being sued and offered a payment plan but I had to make a payment now. I foolishly paid $100. I have disputed it with my bank and closed that card and have not signed the agreement they emailed me. They said that the details of the account would be sent to the judge and I could find that out when I go to court.

I just got a call from them they say I owe on a barclay card from 2004 the statute of limitations is up when I ask for their info and to spell Hanson she couldn’t spell it I would like to know more about them scam or no scam

I am the victim of this scam.

Instead of them calling me the representative by the name of Sarah Marshall said that I have a claim and if I don't call her back giving her the information she needs for my case that I will be sent to jail.

She said she works for Hansen Associates and when I looked up her name on the Hansen Associates website with her phone number and my reference number for my case her name doesn't come up and she doesn't work for them at all.

This has happened to me way to many times and for them to get a hold of my family members instead of getting a hold of me directly isn't right.

So since this company is a Law office I've contacted my own lawyer and I have him all the information he needs about this woman so further actions will be filed against her.

She needs to stop calling my family members.

Quick question: Hansen Associates or Hansen and Associates? I got a call from them as well, was told they were based in Overland Park Kansas. Can't find any info on them and now aware of any debt.
