On the same day, I received text from the phone # (562) 661-6534, the person who texted me claimed to be Mrs. Mary Botin and asked me to get online for interview with the interviewer manager called Mr. Richard Kender. I followed the text instructions to chat with [email protected] on Google Hangouts. After Mr. Richard interviewed me via text on Google Hangouts, he told me I was offered the position and asked for the bank that I operated with, my name, address, phone # and email. He then explained, " You will need some Data entry/Accounting software and also a time tracker to commence your training and orientation and also you need the software to get started with work...the work of the time tracker is to calculate your hours devoted since this is an online work from home.Before you start work you will receive a payment ,you will be using this payment to set up your mini office by purchasing accounting software's plus the shipping logistics, because we will be sending you some equipment you will be needing to start work with, immediately you get this payment you start work. You will get started with work ASAP...you are to purchase all your materials from a certified vendor we have been patronizing for years now. The company will issue you a Check to enable you purchase all the EQUIPMENTS you need to start work with". Mrs. Mary Botin texted me on 04/07/2016 to give me the tracking # of the paycheck mailed to me on USPS. The tracking # was ***. She told me to deposit the check in ATM or my bank and withdraw the funds the next day to purchase the equipment.
I got the paycheck, which looks similar to the previous paychecks that I asked my bank about. My bank customer service representative told me she does not think the check is real and recommend me to report this to police. I still got call from the phone # (318)900-7977 (most likely Mr. Richard or another partner in crime) after I confronted Mr. Richard about the scam. This group does not seem like the legitimate Hamrock Inc. I believe the scammers tried to trick me to withdraw about $3,450 or more to transfer to them with fake checks that will not work after weeks and after my bank fund has been defrauded. I hope to report and alert about the heinous scam crime online. I also hope actions can be taken to investigate and legally punish the scammers.
