I received a call from someone saying he was Let. David Walker with the Hamilton County Sheriffs Department. With a bunch of noise in the background like a call center, he told me there was a warrant out for my arrest for failure to appear for jury selection as ordered by Judge Laura Briggs. He went on the explain how jury selection was different from jury duty and that they had sent me something in the mail about this, which of course I never got. I was then told in order to prevent arrest today, I could pay part of the penalty and settle the rest later. This man told me I would need to pay $850 for each charge, which he said there were 2, and that I needed to go to Kroger to get a voucher to pay this amount and that he would stay on the phone with me to help me with the process. Suspecting this was a scam, I begin to ask him LOTS of questions. When he finally got tired of the questions, he said "Bye B***" and hung up on me.
