Type of a scam Employment

Hi!

This scam was very in-depth, I applied for part time work through indeed.com(i do not recommend using) and I got a text message from 470-243-1317(Eva Durant) claiming she was the recruiting department for Halo Pharmaceuticals saying someone was going to reach out to me regarding an interview for a customer service position. I went through a whole online interview process and they told me I got the job..they said online interviewing was a quicker way to get qualified candidates into positions more efficiently. George Lawthom sent me an offer letter via email that looked legitimate. Then, they told me they were going to send me a check to get my working materials from a local vendor and also take my $100 startup bonus from the money leftover..they overnighted the check to me and then insisted I deposit the check via ATM immediately..something didn’t feel right to me so I started asking questions about who these local vendors would be and if I could get in contact with them before cashing this check..the person I have been in contact with is Greg Juriel and he insisted all my questions would be answered once the money was in hand. At this point I still wasn’t sure if this was a scam or not, then I started doing research on Halo Pharmaceuticals and they were acquired by a company called Cambrex, the vice president on the website was different than the one listed on my offer letter. That’s when I knew this had to be a scam. I asked Greg why the vice presidents were different and that it was strange my offer letter wasn’t updated with the current information. He said that was the old vice president before the company was required, and had asked multiple times a day if I had cashed the check. I still hadn’t signed the offer letter!! I said why are you so concerned with me depositing this check when I haven’t even signed the offer letter yet? Then he started saying it was my choice to take the position and my training would start once I cashed the check and got my working materials. I asked to speak to his supervisor multiple times and he said they would be in contact with me, I heard nothing from anyone. Then he said I couldn’t speak to the supervisor until the check was cashed. Clearly this is a very intense scam with a lot of moving parts...the check also looks printed and that’s how I initially felt something was off
