The gentlemen stated that I owed money for a bank account the was closed in 2009. He stated that they were trying to serve but had the wrong address. I was confused about the debt because it doesn't show on my credit report. I than stated that I was looking at up to 5 years in jail and fines. I asked how we could settle this and he stated that bc I wasn't served yet that I could pay the balance by the end of bussiness. I asked about a payment plan and he said that I could make two payments. He said he would send me a settlement agreement. About 30 mins later I recieved a call from him saying his manager look at the account and would take the original settlement offer if I paid in full which was cheaper. He than stated he would put both amounts in the agreement letter. While waiting for the documents I called the bank that was the original debt from and they said they had sold off the account in 2012 and that company has closed down. He than stated he would have a representative contact me in 48 hours with more information. I also contacted my court systems and they have no records. At that time I than called the guy back and stated all of this him and his reply was awful. He said that they would continue with the process and sever my work and have them hold 20% of my wages until we went to court. If I win than I would get it back if I lost I would pay the remaining balance. V
