Found a very detailed ad in the local paper advertising the sale of golden retriever puppies. The gentleman who put out the ad contacted me right away about availability of the puppies and sent his personal website stating he has been breeding for 14 yrs. The website is very professionally done with testimonials and health guarantee statements. The man even provided an address for us to come see the puppies but when the day arrived for our appointment he had to cancel due to his wife being “admitted to the hospital for emergency surgery”. He had us choose a puppy off of his site and provide a “refundable deposit” which we unfortunately did. He then set up a way of transporting the puppy to us since he didn’t know when his wife was going to be better. He stated that the puppy would be coming on a certain day but she never arrived and we didn’t receive and UPS tracking number. When he was called on the phone it stated the “number is no longer in service” even though you are able to contact him using a different phone number. This man is very sneaky we talked to him via text and phone call multiple times before the exchange of money and built up trust with us so we would believe him. He needs to be stopped!
