Two weeks ago, I received a call from someone with a foreign accent. Because I couldn't understand him very well he handed me over to someone else who also had a foreign accent. I could overhear other callers in the background. That should have alerted me to a scam. I could understand her somewhat and it sounded like she was from my TV provider, I asked if she was from Dish Network. She immediately started asking me about our service. Then she said that we had outdated boxes and asked how many boxes we had. She then said that she would set up an appointment to have a tech bring out new upgraded boxes that would give us clearer HD and so on. She then told me how much it was going to cost for the upgrade and asked if that would be OK. I said yes and then provided my credit card number. She said thank you and have a nice day. At that point, I became suspicious. I then called Dish network and asked them if they were providing this service. They were not. They even sent out a tech to "fix the TV" not replace the boxes. Today, I got another call from the scammer; same voice same background callers. I told her that I know this is a scam and that they were being investigated and hung up.
