A guy message me through Instagram and ask to get to know me. We start chatting and stated he’s in the military and got deployed on a ship going to Australia. I was hesitant and still continue to talk to him. He stated something happen he need help and he had no contact with his money while out on the ship. I stated I can’t help with that and stated this seem like a scam and this is messed up using people. Then he was like I thought we had something and said he got other help from another friend and he feel bad asking that other person for money. So he made it seem like I over react about his situation. Thing went back to him stating how he in love with me or how god helped us get together. Then he was like internet access is limited unless he submit certain amount of money in iTunes gift card. At first I was like really but I trusted him and sent iTunes gift card and sent him the picture of it. I felt a weird feeling about it but his smooth talking made me trust him. Then a week or so later he stated he want to ship me his valuables like his military achievements such as metals. I was confused and wonder why he had that with him. He state he had to bring it with him because he sent his kid to another state to be watch and taken care of when he’s away. So he gave my email to a company that’s stated in the report scam I submitted. It stated attn to my name stating it need my full name and copy of my ID and address and phone number. Being so confused I send that info like a dummy and they replied back stating now I need to pay $950 to get it sent. Then that got me more seeing red flags. I looked into the email and it a gmail email and it state that I should send money through a western union to a house address in Kansas. I google earth the address and it’s a house not a business building and the recipient name was off as well. So I reached out to the guy I was talking to and he was like it’s a business his mate on the ship uses all the time and didn’t know they would ask for money like that. Then he goes you have to do what they ask because it his valuables. I explain I can send that kind of money. He was upset then stating he will help with some of the payment and that triggered more weird feeling because he stated he could use his money and now he’s using money that he has to take care of his kid. So I blocked him on Instagram and stop replying to his google hangout chat. But he still trying to message me and stating this is messed up how all his achievements are out there now. I am nervous because they have my address and a photo of me and my phone number. I feel like an [censored] falling for this. So I decided I needed to report this.
