Someone named Mr. Lopez from gsi called me about a job as a janitor.

He said that I would need a osha certificate for the job, that would cost $100.00.

O did not go through with it.

I know that you do not need to be osha certified to become a janitor.

Looking for a job on craigslist, there is a post for Building Porter. After sending a resume via email, there was a interview set up within two days promising a full-time position as a building porter starting at $17 dollars an hour. The name of the company is called G.S.I. With an address set up for the interview at 101 Hudson St., Jersey City, NJ 07302 on the 21st Floor of the Merrill Lynch building (Exchange Place). During the interview, a couple of questions about having experience, with no experience one was hired on the spot. Within being hired, the interviewer said it was mandatory to get OSHA certified. He explained the reason why it was important to have a OSHA certification using the OSHA background information, as well as handing a contract form to take a 10 hour OSHA General Training for the price of $539.00. He said to pay $100.00 now, cash payment during the interview and to pay the other portion of $439.00 during the OSHA training session at 101 Hudson St., Jersey City, NJ 07302 on the 21st Floor of the Merrill Lynch building (Exchange Place), which is to be taken place on Saturday (12/8/15) at 12:00pm. Also was told to bring a pen, a notebook, and $439 cash for the training course. After the interview, while doing some research on the company, there was something odd about having to give money during an interview. When spoken to a representative from OSHA, one asked if there was a scheduled training session at the time and place previously mentioned. The representative stated that OSHA training are only available online! The OSHA representative explained that OSHA does not provide in person training. The course is currently available online at the cost of $79.99 for the 10 hour OSHA training. Shocked! Also, spoked to a representative from BBB, as soon as the $100.00 cash payment was mentioned, the representative immediately said it was a fraud! BBB, said "one was to never be charged for anything (training, drug tests, uniforms, etc.) that those were to be provided by the company." Later on, while speaking to the security at the front desk of Merrill Lynch building, the woman laughed at the fact that the job position was for building porter. "That can't be! I will speak with my boss about this", stating the front desk security. The front desk security tried to get in touch with the building management, she transferred the line to the people who are in charge of renting out the office space to companies. One spoken to a woman who said that she did not know much about "G.S.I." that their job is to rent out the available space in the building to different companies. Sounding concern, she went to speak to her boss who advised her that he would handle the situation and promised to call back. After hours of waiting a call was never made in return. As one tired to call back to get in touch with the building manager of the Merrill Lynch, ones phone call was put on hold, and later hung up on.
