This scam was presented to me via gmail after applying to jobs on LinkedIn. When I received the email it came from another gmail account not the company’s domain. The person disguised themselves as an actual business called “Grove Avenue Family & Cosmetic Dentistry” which is a real company. Not only is the company real but the name used “William Adams” is an actual doctor, so I assumed it was legitimate. The first email stated that they reviewed my application and wanted to go forward with the interview. The interview was solely through email with a list of questions you had to answer. After answering their questions I received an immediate response claiming I got the job. When they offered me the job they requested my personal information such as: name, number, and address. After that was given to them they asked me how far I was from a staples, I told them I’m not too far. They then asked if I could go to a staples for them and purchase paper check refills. By this time I had already knew the job was a scam so I told them I must receive a contact number and proof that this is a legitimate job before going forward. Of course, I received no response from that email after requesting proof of legitimacy. So I called the actual business to let them know there is someone posing as their company and they stated they were already made aware.
