I was contacted by James Wood by text asking for me by name. I have been so desperate for a job I answered. He told me to download the Wire app and the conversations was conducted from there. I was asked questions and told I got the job. I filled out a W-4 with my social security number on it like an [censored]. I signed up through id.me and irs.gov Everything seemed fine and then I just got this feeling I just gave my life away. I looked up scams and this was one of them. They sent me a picture of a check and told me to print it and cut it down to check size and send a copy of the deposit slip. I said it was too late today and I can't do anything until Tuesday. They wanted me to by a whole bunch of office equipment for my training starting on Monday.
