I inquired about an AD posted in Craigslist for Portland condo, fully furnished for $1,000.00 and $500.00 security deposit via email. I received response from a Jessica Delacruz with GREYSTAR APARTMENT HOUSING logo, a professional picture of this person and details about availability and filling out application. After filling out application a day later Jessica emailed I was approved and sent a sublease with all information for 3 month lease signed by landlord and a reservation form with security deposit information as well. I was told there were other people interested and I had to send 1st month rent plus security deposit to reserve the condo. Communication was all done via email. I asked to tour place but current tenants privacy was mentioned assuring I would get keys after cleaning first. I drove to place and it was a nice neighborhood. I sent 1st month rent and deposit via Zelle, that’s $1,500.00. Two days later I get an email stating there was a mistake and security deposit was $1,000.00 and I needed to send additional $500.00 or opt for refund. I asked for a refund and the transaction be reimbursed thru Zelle sine my information was there. I also requested the refund through Zelle to recipient [email protected]

No response at this point. All email communication was professional, timely and I thought convenient due to my work hrs.
