This company claimed in an ad on ***** that they were a fully automated cryptocurrency exchange created by Elon Musk. I invested $500 US based on that claim and opened a wallet account they recommended I use. Once my money was received however, a person called me and told me he was my designated broker and would be responsible for all my trades as his track record was higher than the automated version because it was catered to my needs. As the ad was deceptive, since it had nothing to do with Elon Musk, I asked him to provide his bio, track record as well as more info on the company, its governance and overall track record historically. I was told they could not provide any information as all of it was highly confidential. I found this very suspicious and told and wrote the broker that I did not wish to continue investing in their platform based on his answer and wanted to withdraw my money and close the account. The broker agreed. However, weeks went by and still never got my money back despite my repeated emails. As for the crypto wallet they suggested I use, it was unresponsive weeks on end regarding my onboarding process which I could not complete and which I also found suspicious. The company website also claims that they operate out of the UK but my payment was processed in Turkey and their phone number's area code is in Nova Scotia/PEI. And finally as of today, I no longer have access to my account without accepting new terms that pop up on the screen when I enter my email and access code which states that they can charge and deduct different fees as they see fit that were not there before. I have to agree to these terms to now access my account as if I were a new account. I have contacted my bank to dispute the transaction and have them check this company for fraud and possible money laundering and have advised this company that I was going to do that.
