Computer screen went dark with a message stating we had been infected with a trojan virus and not to shut down the computer or it would crash. We were instructed to call a number that would contact Apple to help with the problem. When contacted the person identified as an Apple technician replied that our IP address had been hacked and we were connected with an "anti-hacking" squad who were Cicso Certified Networking Engineers and would correct the problem remotely for $749.99 with a lifetime service. The website showed they were backed by the ScamPulse.com and the Federal Trade Commission which, when contacted, are not. We have contacted Apple to check on the identification of the technician and was told he was not and authorized tech and that were had been scammed. We have since contacted the Secretary of State in WA to see if they are a legitimate business and they are not. We have since changed our computer password, rebooted our modem, and stopped and changed our bank cards. They have contacted us threatening a collection agency since we did not give them any money. We were counseled to put their e-mail in spam and block the phone number which we did.
