Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
He never called for a phone interview. Just used email and text.
The scammer said they would send me a check to deposit into my account so I had money to run his errands.
I received an email with the tracking information for the check.
Received the check the next day.
The check does not have the bank phone number or address. It has very limited information on it.
The scammer text with urgency asking if I had deposited the check. After I fought my gut feeling, I decided against depositing. I text the scammer to say I was not going to fulfill their duties requested and that I was weary of the situation and merely got a simple text back reassuring me that their "funds were good".
