An old friend of mine messaged me on Facebook about it and said it worked for him, although, I've come to realize a bit too late that I was being scammed. I had doubts before and tried to back out but the people talking to me convinced me and I regret everything. Besides Facebook their was email and from there, texts and a 'board director' reaching out to me. There was an 'agent' lady who sent me instructions and my 'friend' was also in contact claiming everything was okay so I went along trusting him. With the instructions there was more and more which I did find odd but they kept pushing saying they help hundreds of people. I had hopes and now I've got nothing. Definitely a lesson not to do again

Scammer on Facebook Messenger cloning other messengers of people you know

They pretend to be you guys and they do find your application and they help people just kind of like you guys do but like they want you to go buy eBay cards and they're cloning other people that you know and pretending like your friends are family members are long time friends are telling you to try this out because they think you would be a great fit and it would be good for your life which I'm disabled and I could really use it and then these people pretend like they're you guys and they're not because I realized that pretty early on when they're asking for eBay cards but it's a not alone and you don't have to pay it back but they want you to spend 300 500 or whatever amount of money in eBay cards and they're not sounding like their American so I just thought I'd let you know it's on messenger and I don't know what else to tell you other than they have your logo and they're not you though

I was scammed by this several weeks ago one of my old school teachers in high school I thought it was her she messaged me on messenger and told me I could get a grant and I won't have to pay nothing back I just would have to see if I qualified they text back I did qualify they gave me all these amounts and not knowing this was a scam I went and put my money in the bank then they wanted me to get 2,000.00$ of Google play gift cards so I tried but walgreens said they can't do tht much I asked how much can I do they said $720.00 I said ok so later on walgreens manager asked me y so many I told her the hole story she said no don't send those she said they r scamming you so I finally let the store now I have these gift cards I have no use for later on I did call my local police and let them no since I gave them my driver's license # cause they wanted a pic ID and I went to my bank and they didn't have to do much since I didn't give no bank information I still have the text from the teacher to this web site but I don't know how to give u all this info

This scammer hacked a friends messenger account. They pretended to be that friend. They gave me the website listed above and I went there. They almost persuaded me to get the scam. I called my friend and she told me she had never got a grant. So I am reporting they are still texting me through messenger I am ignoring them. I have other screenshots of the messages if you need them

I was contacted by my actual bookkeeper who I am friends with on FB. She was telling me to apply for this grant for small businesses that had suffered during the pandemic. I clicked on the website and it looked legit initially. I filled out some skeletal info (email and phone number) and got a text message that I had been approved. You had to put up a certain amount of money as a processing fee to get the grant.

A woman sent me a friend request followed by a Facebook message to inform me about a "gradient grant" which is allegedly through the government for retired and people who are in need of assistance. I told her I've never heard of it and that my government here in Canada helps those in need with OW or ODSP. She informed me that this is a new program and offered to send me

The contact info of the "online claim agent" and tell them I want to apply for the grant. She said from there I will follow their instructions and protocols. I then asked her if it costs anything & she said that I'll only have to pay for my case file. When I asked her the cost of this she said it depends on how much money I choose to claim.. lol so much for only paying for my casefile eh? Anyway here is the contact info for the online claim agent 2246990849. All you need to do is text this number & say you want to apply, how convenient. I do not know how much money they were going to try to scam me out of because when I asked the cost she told me it depends on how much I claim I never texted the number for the agent as she instructed so I cant say forsure.
