This is the 2nd time I received a message like this using a friend's messenger account. The first time it seemed suspicious so I just blocked the account. This time I responded but when they mentioned this grant program I thought it was fishy so I wrote back that I Google the grant name and found it could be a scam. They said I shouldn't be skeptical that they received theirs right at their doorstep. The text had some mistakes that I knew it wasn't my friend. I blocked the account. I should have noticed that the account said it was new and had no followers.

The Scammer contacted me through a spoofed account of one of my friends on Facebook. They had the same name and profile picture but their accounts were entirely separate. Eventually, they gave me a phone number and a personal email to begin a transaction.
