On July 1, 2023, the scammers came to my door telling me my roof had an issue - I explained my roof was fine as it was just put on in 2018. They tried painting this picture that squirrels were going to get into my house and cause lots of damage, it will cost me thousands to fix, but they could fix it for $800. I told them my main concern at the moment was a plumbing issue. He said they were Contractors and he could look at it. In the basement there is a damp issue, and he said they could fix that for $3600 - for a total of $4400. I told them I didn't have that cash, he said he would need to know that when the work was done he would get paid - so I was to let him know when I had the money. They came back on July 10, 2023 when I had the $4400 - now they discovered the damp issue was going to cost $20,000 (at this point they totally forgot about the so called roof issue). They would need the $4400 down in cash as it would take a couple days for the check to clear, and they needed to get supplies. So I gave them the money and the rest they said they would be able to finance for me and I could make monthly payments. I got a call from someone that called himself Luke from GPF saying they would start work July 24. No supplies were delivered and no one came to start work. I have a police report filed and a fraud report with the MN AG's office.
