My boyfriend and I were seeking to purchase a Welsh Pembroke corgi puppy. We found the website gorgeouscorgipuppies.com, which featured several corgi puppies for sale for "50% off." We were skeptical, so we emailed the site's owner. He claimed that his name was Jack Rockwell and they lived in Richmond. Virginia, which matched the area code of the phone number that he later gave. My boyfriend asked him if he could call him, and he did. He had great difficulty understanding the man though, but he said that he could ship the puppy via airline, but we could also get the puppy delivered to our door for an extra fee. He asked for a Western Union deposit, but did not say how much the deposit was. He did say the total was $500 flat. "Rockwell" also sent other pictures of the puppy that we asked for. I looked up Jack Rockwell, and I could not find any information or any independent reviews about his "business." I copied and pasted the testimonials into a google search, and I found the exact same testimonials on other sites. Additionally, when I reverse google image searched the pictures of our puppy we chose, I found the exact same images on other websites from years ago. Furthermore. another site rollygermanshepherdpuppies.com has the exact same format, except instead of claiming to sell corgis, it claimed to sell German Shepherd puppies. We emailed him back to see what he would say if we wanted to take a road trip to meet with him and see the puppies (which is what we wanted to do in the first place), and he never responded.
