documents". We received a phone call from a woman named "Cameron" who said she worked with "a law firm" and there was
a "complaint" against us and to call the number 213-348-6206 to obtain the legal documents. We called this number and were
instructed to email the email address [email protected] to obtain the "legal documents". We called again to
inquire about their firm website, attorney names, and bar numbers, and were refused all of this information. We asked the
name of the person answering the call and were refused that information. We asked for the firm website and were refused that
information. We were yelled at, cussed at, told "this isn't McDonalds" and "this isn't how this works", and directed to "check the
secretary of state website" to verify the legitimacy of their business. Upon checking the SOS website we learned this business
has only been in formation for five months, has no website, has no phone number other than the one given to us in the
voicemail. As you well know, a formation with SOS does not guarantee the legitimacy of a business, and the fact that we were
refused ANY AND ALL information to verify the legitimacy before emailing a suspicious email address leads us to believe this
is a fraudulent scam. In addition to that, the method in which they are trying to force us to obtain these legal documents is *not
a legally recognized method of service under California law*. They are trying to force us to go out of our way, and expend our
resources to obtain the complaint, instead of arranging a proper process server to have the complaint served under the
applicable statutes. They have refused to have these documents served upon us under any existing applicable law, and have
threatened legal action and collections if we do not "obtain the documents", even though they have not effected proper service
under the applicable laws. They are targeting anyone they can get a phone number for, forcing them to email a suspicious and
unsecure email address, and risking having their identity stolen, having their devices hacked, and subjecting themselves to
illegitimate threats of legal action and collections.
