Received a fax invoice from the Yellowpages for a total balance of $498.95 An inquiry number was listed, a reference number, an order number and a customer ID number as well. Upon investigation with the other employees, we have discovered that no one has authorized (no one has the authority to do so other than the designated employees) for such purchase to be made. A phone number was provided 1-800-909-4348 this is neither of the 4 other numbers that were issued. When we push #3 for billing department a prompt comes on the line that "We are experiencing a high volume of calls all of our representatives are trying to help other customers at the moment. Please leave us a message and we will return your call shortly"

Research has been done online and it was found that there has been an ongoing scam pertaining to the Yellowpages. Included were information about how they fake an authorization (recording your conversation and asking yes or no questions in regards to a free listing) and switching around the conversation using your recorded "yes" for the authorization. Faxing an invoice to better disguise where the invoice is coming from, so it is not traceable. Third stage is imitating a collections agency and making harassing calls if no payment has been made. A message has been left for the billing department 2X and no return call has been made.
