I did a Google search for personal loans. I contacted a few and filled out a few requests online. I was called by a man named Eric, stating he was from Gold Coin Finance. He said he received my online application and I was pre approved for a $4000 loan. I was a little skeptical and told him so. He referred me to their website and said I could call the number and check him out. I did and someone answered and confirmed Eric as the verification officer. Once he confirmed Eric was "legit" I asked to be transferred to him. I was told Eric would call me back. Once I hung up Eric called. We talked about the terms of the loan and payment schedule. They asked for my account number and routing number for the direct deposit. Once they realized my account was not a brick and mortar bank. They said I'd have to pay $155 in order for them to proceed. I asked why and they said because it's a prepaid account. They said to either send the payment through a Bitcoin ATM, Western Union, or I could send it through cash app. Once they said cash app my antennas went up. So I checked their website again. Clicking on their info tab, FAQ tab, and the about tab. It looked real so I sent the payment. Once they received it they said the money would be in my account in the morning. When I woke up I waited until 9am to check my account. Nothing was posted. So I called the number from the website and the number was no longer in service. I called the number Eric called me from that wasn't a real number. I went to the website and it wasn't active either. At around noon I received a call for Jonathan, the so called loan enforcement agent. He started to tell me I needed to get an insurance policy on the loan and it would be between $245-$400. At that point I knew this was a scam. They cost me $155 and I had to get a new bank account because they had my information. Whomever these scammers are they knew I'd been searching for a short term loan and used that.
