I inquired through the glowmalts.com website about a Maltese puppy for sale for 500.00.I received a response very quickly. Through some communication, all emails and later on some texting, I decided to make the purchase of the puppy. I was sent pictures and a video of the puppy -- or a stock photo of someone's puppy. I was asked to pay in Amazon gift cards or a cash app. I tried to use the app, but it would not work. I should have known then, however, I bought 650.00 worth of gift cards. It felt so professional I didn't think to research them. I sent pictures of the cards and the receipts. The cards showed the claim codes. Final arrangements were made to ship the dog to the Pittsburgh International Airport from New Jersey. I was contacted through text and email that the registration and documentations were completed and she would arrive that evening and be delivered to me by a Pet Delivery service. I know now that the delivery service is also part of this entire scam. I got calls that afternoon from a man claiming additional gift card money was needed to cover insurance for the pet to be allowed to be processed. I provided 1300.00 to this person (not the same person I dealt with who was selling the dog). Another email came asking for more money or the dog would not be shipped because the crate provided by the seller was rejected by the airport veterinarian. He asked for 850.00. At this time I refused and told them I realized this was a major scam and I would have this investigated. All communication stopped at that point. So of course, there never was a Maltese puppy. The entire thing is a scam and glowmalts and the [email protected]/ [email protected] do not exist in reality. The Glowmalts "owner" claimed his name is Jervis Monroe using the phone number 732-416-4485. The delivery service people who provided a tracking number that went nowhere claimed his name is Damian Collins using the phone number 614-927-4880. I recognized the area code as an Ohio area code in the Columbus, Ohio area. That is when I realized for sure what had happened. In a search for the location of these phone numbers the seller came up in Newark, New Jersey and the delivery contact in Columbus, Ohio. I lost all but 500.00 of my money because I did not catch this soon enough. I managed to track one gift card before it was claimed. As a matter of fact, each of the gift cards was spent all using a different name. So this appears to be much larger than just two men who are ripping of people. I have lost my money and I will deal with that. But it's difficult to deal with the fact that I was a victim and couldn't figure it out until it was too late. Perhaps this information will help someone else.. I have saved all the communication in emails and texts. They make it look very legitimate. It's unfortunate for me and I'm sure there is someone else out there who has fallen victim to this group.
