I was contacted via text by someone claiming to be an employment recruiter that just came across my resume online (I recently posted). They directed me to download a gmail account and to add google hangout, send the above gmail email address a verification code etc. I followed the prompts and did so, I was then contacted by a guy claiming to be Todd Stegall. At first, it sounded like a great opportunity to work from home as I am going to school. It would be data entry online for Glow Pharma Pvt. Ltd. But when they said the company was based out of Mumbai, India, but yet he was contacting me online from Phoenix Arizona. Although the company does have a website, there is not anything to be found through online searches. The wording he used did not make sense at some points, explaining to me that his profile picture of a white, middle-aged man, did not match up to some of the wording he used, as if it he is foreign. It promised good pay, training etc, and they would send me a check to purchase software from certain vendors. Now that I am typing this all out, I realize how suspicious this does sound and to go with my gut that this is not a legitimate business. I never spoke to anyone personally and they are wanting more information as a newly hired employee, so they can enter my information into their database.
