I applied for a job opportunity. The recruiter posted it via Facebook. I was referred to the HR to a person under the name of Lisa Bianca. I was in contact with her via Google Teams. She interviewed me on google teams and after wait a day, I was offered the position. I was very excited to start and I was told the next step would be getting the office supplies necessary (Max book, iPhone 11, laser jet printer) all which I was told would be provided. They the. Sent me a check of $1,345 to cover the cost of office supplies. I use chime banking and was told because it is a prepaid bank I could not use it to receive the money for equipment. I then proceeded to make a new checking with PNC then printed the check and mobile deposited it. The check would not clear and I let the company know that. I was told by the bank that the reason was the check would not go through is because the account associated with it it did not have the funds. When I told the company that, not only did it raise a big red flag for me, but I was told it was because my account was too new. That made no sense at all and caused me to raise concern even more. So I proceeded to then ask what do we do now since the company check didn’t clear. I was told they would take of it. Quickly after they changed it and said I would need to cover the cost of shipping. I’ve never been asked to cover cost of anything for a position. I then proceeded to ask someone for direct contact so I could reassured that this position was real. She then began ignoring my messages and gave me no solutions. I have the offer letter and all of my contact messages.
