Global Transportation Group Reports & Reviews (1)

- Brooklyn, NY, USA

I recently started looking for a job and applied for few positions on Indeed.com. On July 20, I received an email from Deborah wright ([email protected]) thanking me for my interest in the project management position (ref. num: 55-32) with Global transportation group, a logistics company with a headquater in Stockholm Europe that is looking to expand in New York and Canada.

The initial email she gave information about the company including this linked globaltgr.com to the website. She also explained that the position starts with 4 weeks online training courses with pay between $2400 to $5200 as contractor 1099 that takes less than 30 minutes a day. Plus, 1 week training in their NYC office 375 Park Avenue, NY, NY 10152 with a full time permenant offer (W2) Monday - Friday with pay of $84,000.00 with benefits and bonuses after the training. At first, I was skeptical about the process, but consulted with few colleagues that thought the company site looks legitimate and I decided to accept the offer to take the 4 weeks online training courses as a contractor. Deborah emailed me a word documents questionnaires (general personality/leadership style questions) and a pre-contract agreement forms to complete. The pre-contract include information about the contract, compensation for the 5 weeks training, legalities and Witness whereof including information from the Stockholm office HQ and David Glasser ([email protected]) NY office HR department and a section for me to provide my full name, date of birth, address, phone number, best time to reach me. The contract looked legitimate as well. After I emailed back the completed pre-contract, Deborah emailed it back to me with approval stamped and a start a date of training on July 30, Monday - Friday. I was also, ask to provide 2 personal or professional references with their phone numbers.

On July 29, David Glasser ([email protected]) ([email protected] and this one from his assistance [email protected]) emailed me to tell me that he will be supervising my training and from July 30, he sent me courses daily (Monday - Friday) and I never received a email from Deborah since. During my first week of training, I was still little skeptical, I search for David and Deborah on professional site like LinkedIn but I couldn't find any names linked to the company. I called the following NYC number (347)758-9296 attached to each email stating to call if I had any questions but I was directed to an answering machine with the name of the company, asking for customer ID and option to leave a voicemail. I express this concern to David and Deborah, both stated that they still setting up their phone lines in the new New York office space and that they will provide me with an extension by the following week and any questions that I had to send through email. I insisted that I needed to speak my concern over the phone. Later on David called me, but I missed the call and he left me a voicemail stating that he is calling me to introduce the voice to the name and that I don't have to call him back, but I still called back and I was received by the answering machine again, and I called the Canada number posted on their website but no one answered. Few days later I received an email from David stating that he is going to schedule an interview with someone from the Stockholm office and I received a call from someone name Ellen (Psychologist from the training department) on the available time I provided. During the interview with Ellen she asked me questions similar to the ones on the original questionnaires provided by Deborah but the phone was so statics we could barely understand each other and service kept cutting off before we could complete the interview. I emailed David to let him, but later I received an email from David with positive feedback from the interview. I found it to be weird but I thought it was because it was a long distance call. I completed 2 weeks training and test that looks really legitimate Logistics and shipping informations. David emailed me to tell me that I am performing well and that score will be email to me from someone in Headquaters but I never received it and a project to work along with my training. On Monday August 13, I received my daily training and email stating what my project will be: " The position comes with a salary of $400 a week. There will be approximately 5 hours’ work per week. The job will mainly involve purchasing computer equipment online – laptops, scanners, printers and the like. Finance will send you a manual explaining how to access funds and make payments. If you have any questions in that area, please contact them immediately. As well as your salary, they will also be sending your commission on a weekly basis. You won’t be required to share any of your personal information. The job will run concurrently with your stage one training, i.e. it finishes after you’ve taken your final training test. It’s not only a nice way to earn a little extra cash, it’ll also give you some great practical experience, which will be a distinct advantage in the long run." This raised a red flag for me.

I emailed David back stating that I am not interested in the project at this time while training and I also started doing more digging and I found a forum posted recently on Indeed, stating that David Glasser and Deborah Wright are scams. I email David to tell him that I am no longer interested on the training and to be removed from it. He never replied, but now I am scared that their have my name, address, D.O.B, phone number, and email. What should I do? Please advise!
