Sent an email with an order# for expensive computer equipment that we did not order and asked us to call for questions. They provided a number to call for questions regarding the order and then claimed they were "Global Technical Support" who were Microsoft Certified Technicians who also sold products but were not Microsoft. They refused to offer website information or company owner information.

this is the third time the left a message, altogether they called me 6 times on saturday october 17, 2020 and twice today

I have received calls from 16 different numbers in the Newark / Jersey City area in a matter of 3 days. I find this highly unusual as most days my phone doesn't even ring because I prefer to text & my friends know this. When I received these calls, most times I only get one call per phone number, other times I get 2, maybe 3 calls per number. My policy is usually not answering numbers that I don't recognize, but seeing as so many calls were coming in from the same area code (201), I had to answer one of them to see what kind of scam they were running. Sure enough, I was greeted with an East Indian voice: "This is (your name here) from Global Technical Support. We've received a report that your IP address has been compromised & we need to get into your computer to fix it." After he said that, I began questioning him about, "Who gave you that report?" & "Why is my IP address important to you?" He went on to iterate his previous statement, which told me that he's reading from a script & isn't really interested in giving me any honest answers. Instead of answering more of these mysterious incoming calls, I decided to call them back after missing the call. Five times I did this, & every time I was met with something like, "Oh, sorry, that call was made by mistake." Ironic how they can call me at all hours of the day, many times a day, but when I call them they have nothing much to say.

I was going to a retailer's website when a screen popped-up bearing a Microsoft logo and lockup at the bottom of the page. It warned me that hackers were attempting to gain access to my personal/banking information. A pop-up window revealed the 1-800-813-1316 number.

I'm not very computer savvy and became scared that my computer had been compromised. I called and talked to someone ultimately trying to sell me added protection software. I became suspicious and hung up on him. I told him prior to hanging up that I will turn their number over to the proper authorities. I called Apple Support and they told me that i did all of the right stuff.

I do not want anyone else to have to go though what I did for nearly 45 minutes.

A company called me saying it was about my computer.. I said could I have your phone number? The woman asked why do you want it? I said that I have to let my dogs out and I will call you back. She gave me a false phone number: 610-6825-139 and said repeatedly GLOBAL TECHNICAL support. I live in the Oshkosh area of WI. it was on my home phone.

They say their is a problem with my computer and then they want my SSN to help fix it. They have called our house more than 3 times. When I asked for their company name and location. They were hesitant but gave me answers. When I asked for their phone number, they hung up.

Apparently a company call Global Technical Support installs a virus program to take over the computer and popup advertisements to fix your computer. They say they are based in Deerfield, Fl--sounds like Indian. They want to take remote control of you computer to "help" you. No way I could or would do that. Is there a business in your area by this name, with this MO?
