On October 26, 2020 a message came up on my computer that someone was trying to access my computer. I made the mistake of calling the help number and after two hours on phone, I was sucked into getting my computer cleaned and then a fire wall protection subscription for 3 years called Webroot. I provided my credit card number and the charge was substantial. When I hung up, I immediately called the credit card company to investigate fraudulent activity. However, the charge went thru but I cancelled that card and credit card company investigated the case. They determined that there was fraudulent activity that was admitted and they got the refund from the party who billed my credit card. I then took my computer to our repairman and asked them to remove the software. However, sometimes 2-3 times in a day, I get calls saying that there is activity with someone trying to access my computer. I tell them to stop calling me. They say they have to keep calling until I allow them to walk me thru getting the license key for the software, off the network because I did not cancel the transaction properly. I refuse to do that with them and they keep calling. And now I have caller Id and the number is a local number and not the number they gave me in the past to call them on. I have been told by my computer repair person and by the manufacturer of the soft ware that this is all a scam and just not to talk to them. I am so disheartened cuz I have to pay for caller id, and I have to screen all my calls and I am intimidated and angry so I literally scream at them in frustration. There has got to be something that can be done.

I have done internet searches that wont give me info on global support solutions and global support solutions says they are a 3rd party working with a company called Oxon technology. When I look up this company it says they went out of business.

I have taken so long to file this complaint because I just thought they would go away. I threaten them with harassment lawsuit and they still keep calling. I hope that no one should ever have to go thru this kind of experience. Never call a helpline when a message comes up on computer or hang-up immediately when anyone is calling regarding a computer problem.
