Our son went online to seek a job. He said he was going to be a food critic and was going to get paid a commission in the amount of $166.00. He then said he had to send $885.00 (each) to two people via a moneygram and we did not feel comfortable with this task. He was sent a cashier’s check in the amount of $1,987.22 from Patelco Credit Union in Pleasanton, California. We deposited the check and it did not clear. I forgot to tell him not to withdrawn the funds from the account until it cleared. Unfortunately, our bank allowed him to withdraw the funds although he did not have the money in his account to clear the check. We are launching our own private investigation to help others and stop this scam. We have also contacted the FBI,US Postal Inspector and the banks involved.
