Global Relocators / Siberian Husky Home Reports & Reviews (1)

STAY. AWAY. FROM. THESE. PEOPLE.

Tried to buy/adopt a puppy from the website https://siberian-huskypuppies.com/ and sent some money upfront to one Alexis Warren (arranged 50% payment upfront and 50% payment upon safe delivery of the puppy). Money was directed by Alexis to be delivered to supposed son, Eddie Carr.

***Before sending the money I contacted AKC directly (akc.org) to ask if they had any records of previous puppy transactions with Alexis Warren or Eddie Carr, and whether they had any logged complaints or concerns. AKC had records for both regarding bulldog deliveries, but nothing on huskies. Additionally, AKC had no records of any complaints related to these parties, but acknowledged their databases were limited***

After sending the money to Alexis Warren (via Eddie Carr) on 5/19/20, I waited 2 days for the puppy to ship. Then, Alexis informed me on 5/21/20 the puppy was shipping that day. Global Relocators then contacted me regarding the shipment status of somebody else's puppy that was also adopted, exposing information of the other customer (hello data privacy protections anybody?). After correcting the information to get the right tracking data for my puppy, I was told all was good and that the puppy would be arriving that day. A flight itinerary was sent to my email (first, it was again mixed up with the other person's puppy and location, and then subsequently corrected). Email body is in-between dashed lines:

We want to inform you that due to the high risk of the coronavirus outbreak, all pets shipping within and out of the country must have a temperature regulated and sealed prevention crate with air conditioned to allow air for the animals to breath normally.

We provide these crate at the agency under a collateral deposit condition. Which means it will be refunded back to you upon arrival of your pet. So we are asking $980 for this crate. Note that this fee is just a collateral deposit and it will be 100% refunded back to you upon arrival.

NB: REFUNDS ARE ONLY PAYABLE UPON ARRIVAL TO THE NAME OF THE RECEIVER OF THE PET AS ADDRESSED ABOVE.

You must provide the funds before we proceed in sending your pet to you using the next available flight.

This $980 payment for "crate collateral" was asked to get delivered via Zelle to:

Email: [email protected]

First and Last Name: Briliant Kelly

Upon adding this contact to my Zelle, I received a warning from my bank that this email was listed under a different name. Upon contacting Global Relocators, they said to send the payment to following person instead:

Email: [email protected]

First and Last Name: Demarco Roscoe

This already started to look very strange. Why are two random individual names - and different names - used for the Zelle payments? This did not seem professional. Nonetheless, I decided to take the risk and sent the $980 payment to one Demarco Roscoe. I then received the following email (email body is in-between dashed lines):

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------... />
Dear customer,

we have received the payment. We will be processing it now. it will take 3 hours to process payment and crate preparation. So your delivery will be done tomorrow. We will send you another flight schedule once it has been confirmed.

Thank you.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------... />
Let me state, for the record, that the first email I received from Global Relocators about this "crate collateral" was at 4:07pm ET. Per the above flight itinerary, the 2nd flight ("next available flight") was departing Chicago at 5:45pm CT (6:45pm ET). This already doesn't fit the 3 hour window specified in their email. Therefore, one thing is clear: THEY NEVER INTENDED TO SHIP THE PUPPY THE SAME DAY.

This was a devious, sophisticated tactic to prey on a customer's devastation. Wait until a customer is emotionally invested at the prospect of getting a puppy, and wait until the *last minute* to ask for a mysterious payment because it needs to get done in order for the puppy to be delivered. Most people will fall for this - heck, I did. You get scared at the prospect of a pup being in transit, only for that transit to be paused because you didn't make a payment or comply with what was requested. And then you start thinking about where the pup would stay, with who, and the stress/anxiety it would encounter as it tries to acclimate to what's happening. I fell for this and made the payment.

But it didn't end there. The next day, when requesting an update on the puppy's delivery status, a similar devious tactic was conducted (last minute email at 2:33pm ET). This was AFTER they ASSURED me the puppy would be arriving to me on 5/21/20.

Dear customer,

Your tracking number is: XXXXXXXXX

you will have to pay insurance coverage (PET CARE) for the transportation of your pet. The insurance is refundable which means that it is refundable only to receiver at point of arrival.

The insurance for your pet is mandatory and it has to be settled 2 hours before departure time. The fee for the insurance is $880.00 and will be refunded back to you upon arrival of your puppy together with the crate collateral which was provided to ship your puppy.

What does Pet Care cover?

Pet return if the insured is hospitalized and cannot care for their pet. In most plans, the costs related to the pet's return are paid by the insured – the assistance services team will make the arrangements and follow up.

Assistance services for pet-related services such as veterinarians, dog walkers, and local pet sitters.

Two plans stand out with unique pet benefits: Travel Select and Travel Max both offered by Travelex. These plans include emergency veterinarian care up to $1,000 for a dog or cat (or both) if traveling with the insured. In addition, they provide up to $10,000 for pet transportation costs to return the pet home if left unattended.

Important notes about this coverage

For trip delays, you will need to provide documentation from the licensed commercial kennel indicating the planned pick-up date and the actual pick-up date for your pet.

For trip delays, you'll need to provide written documentation of the reason for the delay from the common carrier.

Plans that provide any type of pet care coverage also typically have pet-related assistance services for locating local vets, pet-sitters, dog walkers and more.

How Reimbursements Work

Typically, pet insurance provider uses one of the three methods in determining reimbursements: listed below:

CASH (When Pet courier arrives your Home)

BANK TRANSFER (Three bank working days after arrival)

MASTER CARD... (Direct Transfer the Department of Insurance (DOI) & Policyholders through their statisticians knows the % reimbursement which is available for pet's accidents, injuries and illnesses...............

Details about the ON LINE CHECK IN will be filled and emailed over to your when we confirm Re-Fund Able Insurance change

*Veterinary fees vary STATE to STATE, per your veterinarian's discretion.

**The benefit allowance amount replenishes with each new incident. An incident is a new condition that causes you to consult a veterinarian. Chronic or ongoing conditions, such as allergic dermatitis, are considered to be one incident no matter how many times a veterinarian is consulted.

***VPI pays 95% of covered veterinary expenses up to the benefit schedule, less your $5 per-incident deductible.

Summary

Travel insurance benefits for pets is extremely limited and only a couple of plans offer any real protection for pets

When making a travel delay claim for pet-related fees, you'll need appropriate documentation from the kennel

Your pet must be healthy and have updated shot records for pet benefits to be payable

Your pet must be checked in with a licensed commercial boarding kennel for pet benefits to be payable

Thanks

When you read this email carefully, it doesn't make much sense. It's poorly written, and there are typos. The more I started to investigate, the more I noticed typos on the [email protected] website. Then I Google'd the location of the breeder - Eddie Carr at 1117 Griswold St Detroit, MI 48226 and looked at the satellite view. It's an apartment building. A bunch of huskies living in an apartment building? For anybody that is familiar with huskies or has researched the breed well, an apartment building holding multiple huskies just does not make sense. It doesn't make sense for a well-run breeding operation either - certainly not like what they advertised on their website. Huskies are very active dogs and need lots of space to move around. This prompted me to look more closely at the pictures on https://siberian-huskypuppies.com/ - and the more I investigated, the more I started to believe the pictures of the puppies were fake.

I asked for information on where to make the insurance payment. This was what I received:

Email: [email protected]

First and Last Name: Akande Simon

We now have a THIRD random individual - and different - name, getting used for the Zelle payments. I didn't see how this couldn't be a scam. But then again, part of me was wondering, "what if it isn't?" I was already getting attached to the dog I thought I was adopting - who wouldn't?

I called Global Relocators at 502-230-4893 and spoke with the supposed Christopher Arnold again (he has been the primary representative on the phone every time I called). I expressed grave concerns about the legitimacy of the operation, and how they were losing my trust. He seemed to understand the concern and said something along the lines of “this is just part of their process, done in 2 stages: crate deposit first and insurance second, but that due to the multiple parties involved at different points in this transportation operation, the steps have to get done in a linear fashion rather than all payments and processing done upfront”.

Every bone in my body was telling me this is a scam. But, fortunately, I am well-capitalized and can afford to lose another $880 if I had to. I decided to go through with it just to see what would happen. Worst case, I lose another $880 and can expose a scam, thereby protecting future hopeful puppy buyers from this dangerous operation. That protection value to me is worth much more than another $880. And best case, it ends up being legitimate and I get my puppy. I decided to go ahead with payment - knowing I would probably never see that money again. This is what I received:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------... />
Dear customer,

payment has been received. We are processing the transaction now and will send you final confirmation once it has been completed.

Thank you.

Lo and behold, nearly 24 hours later, I have received no further updates and no puppy. The tracking information they gave me is still 2 days stale and unchanged. I've come to conclude these people are scammers. They are dangerous, and they are looking to prey on your emotional attachment to the prospect of buying and adopting a new puppy. Don't let them screw you. Stay away and protect yourself - it is not worth the emotional or economic devastation. Go with a trusted breeder and get your references.
