I was to cash a check they sent, buy 3 gift cards then apparently they would send me a questionnaire to complete

I'm sent a check1845 that I'm supposed to deposit in my account take out 340 for myself with a remaining balance of1505 for the assignment, which is to go to 1 or 2 different best buys and buy three gift cards put 509 on each card then take a picture of the front of the card then scratch the barcode and take a picture of the back the send it either through a texted or email so they can verify the cards and amount. I did not do it at all because I knew it wasn't right.
