Says he is Paul from Gifting Department and asks if you can hear him. If you say "yes", then they hang up. They use different numbers every time and they are always 478 numbers. This one was 478-210-3520. Other numbers are doing the same exact thing are: 478-220-4972, 478-217-7690, 478-216-0183, 478-662-1951, 478-215-8435, 478-662-8454, 478-662-8297, 478-425-4991, 478-215-8371.

I was called by this phone number and there was a recorded message:

"This is Joe from the gifting department. I am on a recorded line. Can you hear me okay?"

I responded yes and the line hung up on me.

The call is a recorded voice saying she is from the gifting department and she asks if I can hear her ok. I say nothing and eventually it hangs up. Multiple calls a day.

I got a call on my work phone from someone (no name) who claimed to be from the "gifting department" and asked if I could hear her. I didn't know what it was and it sounded like solicitation so I hung up. I then looked up "gifting department" and found that it's a scam. They ask if you can hear them so you'll respond "yes", and then they use the affirmation to sign you up for a service that then demands payment.

I received a call from this phone number. They said they were in the gifting department. "Can you hear me?"

I received a phone call with an automated message. The voice on the phone said "I am from the 'gifting department' this is a recorded message, can you hear me?" They seem to be wanting me to record "yes" so they can scam me.

They called and a male voice said:

"Hello this is John from the gifting department, can you hear me okay?"

I have hanged up multiple times. They just keep calling. Now my phone is loaded with emails, text and calls that are obviously scams.

My phone rang I answered it a lady said " my name is Brooke and I'm with the gifting department can you hear me ok?" I said yes and she hung up , I called it back and it was an automated system it said it was customer service and no one was able to take my call at this time but I could email them with any questions to [email protected] I'm now very concerned it was a scam please what do I do now ?

They call, say they are from the gifting department, ask if I can hear them okay, and then launch into offers for a free cruise.

I answered the call and they told me they were with the ... department. I couldn’t understand what department but I think they said gifting after I hung up. They then proceeded to ask if I could here them since I paused for a moment. Being quick to answer I said yes. They then hung up.

I've been receiving several phone calls from different numbers with a (509) area code, saying they are from the "gifting department". Once they stated that by pressing "1" I'd be removed from their call list. I did, and soon after I received another call from a different (509) number with the same "gifting department" line.

This is the "can you hear me?" scam

Unfortunately I did say yes - quickly followed by that I could not talk

did some research and found that this is a scam.

8/25/2017. Male called. Identified self as Joe. Stated from Gifting Department. Asked if I could hear him clearly. I responded "yes" he hung up.

Got a call and it said "my name is joe, you're on a recorded line, press 1 to be removed. Can you hear me okay?"

The first call I received, the caller said he was Joe from the gifting department, said he was on a recorded line, and asked if I could hear him okay. I responded yes and the call disconnected. The second call I received, the caller said he was Joe from the gifting department, said he was on a recorded line and asked me to press a button. The call disconnected before he said what button to push.
