An ad for this product popped up in my Instagram - free trial, just pay shipping. They said Jennifer Aniston was a rep of the company. Upon further research, I discovered she is not. The product I ordered arrived along with another product which I did not order. Packaging was cheap and product was not effective. They then contacted me 27 days after the purchase and said that since I never called within 14 days of purchase, I'm now liable for the full price of the products at $254. They used threats and harassment, saying I didn't read the fine print and that they would continue to send me products and charge me monthly unless I paid the $254 and closed the subscription (they would not close the account without payment). I went back and read their terms and conditions thoroughly. They state that this is a "30 day risk free offer" but the fine print says "You will be billed for the full retail price of $129.95 on the 8th day from the purchase date". This information was not clearly stated on the Instragram link I used for my initial purchase. The website also claimed a 30 day full refund policy - "100% Money back Guarantee that it works!" is in black & white at the top of the site - however, they refused to reimburse for the shipping and handling. I was still within those 30 days, so I called customer service to return and refund the items. Customer Service argued with me that I was not able to make a return, so I demanded a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number which was indicated in the terms & conditions for refund. The agent reluctantly gave me the RMA number but refused to send a confirmation email because "they don't use email" (they did when I made the order - [email protected]!). Thankfully, they were not able to charge the card I had used for the initial transaction because that card had been cancelled and reissued under a different number due to fraudulent charges identified by my credit card company. These fraudulent charges started directly after my initial purchase and it's hard to believe they were not related. The same, harassing Derm le Mar agent called me again the day after I received the RMA number and verbal confirmation that my account was closed from the Derm Le Mar customer service line. The agent and then his manager said that they had no record of my return request and that I was still liable for the $256 and another shipment and charge would be made the following day. They said my RMA number was not in their system. They threatened that if I did not pay, it would affect my credit score and I would be unable to stop the product subscription and associated monthly charges. They were downright bullying me. Speaking through me, ignoring my return information and refusing to close the account unless I paid them. I am truly horrified that a company with such practices is able to exist. After repeating my RMA number and return request information multiple times, I threatened legal action and they hung up on me. If I get a call back tomorrow, I will be contacting the police to report harassment. Please look into this company and warn others of this scam.
