Type of a scam Online Purchase
You contact them via email for information and details.
They then respond with questions for you such as:
1) Have you had a puppy before?
2) Are you a breeder?
3) Do you have any veterinarian around your location?
4) If the puppies destroy something worth $ 100 what will be your reaction?
5) Any experience with a puppy?
6) What is the name of the exact puppy you want?
7) where are you located?
With this information, we will know if your home suits our puppies. Feel free to ask any questions regarding the puppies so we get back to you with more details.
Get back to us so we can advise you on the next step you will take to have the baby home.
They then respond via email " Thanks for taking your time to answer my question. I am located in Lubbock Texas. We do accept visits on weekends ( Saturdays and Sundays). We have spots available for next weekend if you can make it here. You can secure a spot by placing a deposit on Max. Let me know how you would like to proceed."
The address they provided was a home that was on the market. It is a good thing we did not take the 6 hour long trip. We also found out they used a Google phone number for the Zelle account which we used and sent them $250 deposit. Cost of pup was $500-$600 depending on the pup chosen.
Our son did some research before we made the trip and saw same pictures of the puppies on multiple websites.
Needless to say, we can't get the money back through Zelle and the number they used for Zelle goes to vmail. Other number won't pick up but did get a response via text when asked for deposit back "...I should let you know I have no idea what you're talking about i have no way of even receiving money on zelle so that is not me. I do not have your money somebody scammed you using my name and number."
Needless to say, we did not get a pup and we got scammed out of $250. We do not want this to happen to anyone else. They play on your heart and you feel violated.
Do not know who else I can report this to so that they get the webpage taken down.
