The initial email asked which puppy we were interested in and they asked us some questions to make it appear they are concerned with whom they sell their puppies. They asked if we had raised a German Shepherd before, if we would be selling the dog now or in the future, and even asked us to send pictures of our environment where the puppy would be raised.
They immediately replied to our answers and congratulated us for picking one of their puppies. They sent additional pictures of the puppy "Dallas" and then started to share the process of us sending them cash via Money Gram (they provided specific instructions on how to do so) and only after they received the cash would they set up the delivery of the dog. Following were their instructions:
"MONEY-GRAM TRANSFER
Receiver: Krown Williams
State: Virginia
City: Lynchburg
ZIPCode: 24515
Amount: $670
That's all the info you'll need to send the money. That way we'll be able to get the money in a soonest time and proceed with everything.
Just copy the information locate any CVS OR MONEY-GRAM STORE and make the payment ,Once we receive the money i will make the delivery arrangements . All you will pay is $670 and this money includes home delivery fee. As soon as we get the money, we'll then proceed."
At that point we expected this was a scam so we sent a response stating that we would prefer to meet at a police station or other public venue to inspect the dog and we would pay cash at the time if the dog and paperwork were acceptable. After that email we never heard back from them.
