My 100 year old mother in law received an itemized bill for $2,656.00 from Geriatrics Association of New Jersey. The dates for billing match when she was in a rehab facility but stated they were for numerous dates of unspecified care at $228 each. A note describing the bill states that insurance has lapsed or does not exist. The bill looks legitimate on the surface but numerous red flags were raised.

The address on the bill is 5 Sanibel Ct in Monroe Township, NJ. When I Google that address I show a large house in a residential neighborhood.

The phone number when I Google Geriatrics Association of NJ is 732 422-7118. I called that number and got a recording that the number is not in service.

When I attempted to call the number on the "bill" 866 592-6822 I got a very generic answering machine stating only that I had reached "doctor's office".

This appears to be a scam targeting elderly patients.
