I received a letter via USPS from "Georgia Business Compliance Services." Having recently formed another LLC, it looked like a form required for the state of Georgia. It instructed me to complete the form to obtain a "Georgia Certificate of Status" for a $67.50 fee. I checked the Georgia Secretary of State website and the scam was the first thing listed in the search results. The state will provide a certificate for $10.00 and it can be ordered online. This is a company trying to charge you for something you don't need.

The scammer is sending out official looking forms requesting LLC owners to pay them $73.50 for a Certificate of Status that is “issued by the Ga Sec. of State”. There is no such thing. The Sec. of State offers a Cert. of Existence but it can only be obtained from the Sec of State and it costs simply $10.
