They had reached out via phone number offering a data entry job for 30$/hr. I was fooled and believed them. They went through a normal job procedure after the guy who contacted me directed me to Microsoft Teams. I was talking to a guy named John Bell and it felt like a normal interview he told me to wait for the day then the next day. He said I was hired and asked for all my information. I stupidly gave it to him thinking it was a real job opportunity. He asked for my SSN for a "background check" which now looking at it was an obvious lie. He asked for my ID photos for "verification" and for "ID cards". I recklessly gave him my information and I didn't realize it was a scam until he started asking for all my information in detail. He started asking for my passwords cause the "job needs access for deposits". It was an obvious job scam after that but they took advantage of my hopes for a job and im sharing my experience to help others. I have been trying to secure my accounts and i've reported everywhere I could to flag all my stuff. I just hope nobody else falls victim to this kind of information scam. They have all my information and have sent me a check to deposit. But after reading about the kinds of checks scammers use I will not be using the check at all. I will continue reporting events to the government and try to secure my account.
