Type of a scam Tech Support
Stating that there was an invoice for my recent purchase. I did not purchase any protection from Geek Squad.
I called the number provided and the company was clearly a call center NOT located in the USA.
In order to remove these chargers I was prompted to download Anydesk which is a remote desktop software. The tech I spoke with told me that I needed to download this application and give them access to my computer in order for them to generate a refund code so I can get a refund for the software protection.
There is no reason why a company would need access to my computer IP to generate anything dealing with a refund. I spoke to a “manager” who wouldn’t answer my questions on why they needed access to my desktop to generate a code for a refund when refunds can simply be made without IP information, I asked to be escalated to someone else in the “Geek Squad” and was hung up on.
