I received the following email which is a scam. I did not authorize this purchase. Because I purchased my desktop computer from Best Buy I had also paid for a subscription to the Geek Squad for 1 year. I knew the Geek Squad subscription had expired so I called the phone number listed below in the email to make sure the Geek Squad subscription had been cancelled. I wanted my money back. I did not give them my bank account number just my Banks’s name. They pulled up my bank statement showing a withdrawal for the Geek Squad. They told me they would reimburse me and set it up for the reimbursement to happen. When the reimbursement happened my bank account statement showed my account was over paid by $4,500.00. They wanted me to go to Lowes and purchase 9 gift cards valued at $500.00 each. The gift cards could be for Lowes, Best Buy or Apple. Once I purchased the 9 gift cards I was to call them & give them the numbers on the back of each card. I immediately hung up on them and called my bank. There was no charge to my bank account for the Geek Squad & my account had not received an over payment of $4,500.00. I had to have my desktop computer cleaned, my online banking shut down and reopened once my computer was cleaned.

Received a text from this number about my order for a subscription and an amount that costs $335.29. Have not answered it, because my gut says this is a scam and I am keeping an eye on all of my cards.
