While I was on vacation I received numerous calls from a company saying that I had security issues with my computer that I needed to have fixed. They gave me the number 800-906-0036 to call the Geek Chance LLC. I did so and they worked on my computer yesterday and today they are asking that I send a cashiers check in the amount of $3000. I called the ScamPulse.com and they told me that it was a scam and that I could purchase multiple computers for that amount. I had not sent the money yet. They suggested I contact a local computer person to check my computer out. Help

Recorded phone message saying my computer was compromised and should call 855-628-7826. Computer access was given to tech and after a while he supposedly found over 3000 error messages and said my gateway was being accessed by foreign parties. It would take $499.99 to fix, payable only by certified check or Money order. I verbally agreed (they recorded it) and supposedly fixed. The next day I called them and said I would not pay on advice of counsel. I also reported the scan to the FTC.
