I found a ad on ksl for a remanufactured engine that I was looking for to fix my truck. I got ahold of the guy and asked if it was available, he said it is but there's a couple people that are interested in it so he's going to need me to give him $250 to secure the engine. I told him I would have to see it in person to make sure that there was even a engine in the first place. He told me to give him a few days and I could meet him at a storage unit where the engine was because he was remodeling his shop. I ended up meeting with him and he showed me a engine that was in a bunch of pieces (I was expecting to see a fully working engine for $3500 as he advertised) and he even talked me into having it installed for an additional $500. Ok sounds like a good deal he just needs $1500 down and we can get my truck into the shop as soon as the shop was done on Monday. That Monday comes and I get a text telling me his shop wont be done for another week so he would see if he can use his buddies shop and also he needs an additional $500 down because he has to get gaskets and bolts for the engine. I said really? I guess I will get you some more money if that's what it takes to get the ball rolling. So a few days later he texted me saying he can't use his buddies shop but his shop is almost done and do you have the $500 then he says let's get your truck up to my shop so he could get right on it, do you want me to have my buddy with a tow truck tow it for a discount? I said yeah that would be awesome. A couple days go by and I get a text oh my tow buddy is to busy but where can we meet to get that money from you. Frustrated I said well I guess my girlfriend has AAA to tow it and I will meet up with you later to get the money to you. So a bit later I get a call from a shop saying that my truck was dropped off to them and they have no idea why so I get ahold of my guy, who's name is Dave Barton that tells me he knows the people that have my truck and it's fine there. Ok now with my patience wore thin I tell Dave I will come to his shop to get that money to him, I really wanted to make sure my truck alright. He says go to the address and he will be in his camper in the alley in the back where he's currently living because his winter home in Florida got leveled by hurricanes. So my girlfriend and I get up there and I give him the $500 and my truck was at a real garage and was safe but in the idle conversation Dave mentions that he just signed the lease to his shop that morning and he getting my truck right on in there and all done by Monday. A couple days later my girlfriend says did you notice the building with the address Dave gave us was a bakery so I googled his shop "Precision Speed Company" on the site or whatever it pulled up it had a picture of the bakery building with his logo photoshopped on it. Your kidding me! Any it's now Sunday I'm stocked that my truck will be done the next day, nope I get a text its Dave telling me that his shop wont have any power till later on Monday. I'm pissed off at this point so I tell him that I'll do the install myself just give me the engine that was in the original ad. Well Dave gets all ignorant and huffy puffy with me and says well you can't get your truck back because its behind a locked gate till after the holidays and said dude I got my damn truck like three hours ago then he said well you owe me $1500 still for the engine I said yeah and? is it all assembled and torqued? He said no but that only takes a couple hours and it will be done for you by the next weekend, ok fine. The next weekend arrives and I get a text would you like me to deliver your engine today? Well duh! Yes of course, its been four weeks are you kidding me. A few hours go by so I texted ol Dave and said so do I get a engine today? He tells me well the paint isn't dry so maybe tomorrow. Ohhh buddy I'm pissed off now. I told him he has cost me jobs and income from him telling me over and over when my truck will be done and he has inconvenienced me so much and I had to pay for unnecessary tow trucks. JUST GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. That SOB Dave Barton says to me that its evident that I don't have the funds to settle my debt with him and he will see me in court. Well now I have to press criminal charges of theft by deception and take him to civil court for breach of Contract, pain in my but. I'm almost positive that there are other victims of this guy Dave H Barton and Precision Speed Company. This guy has got to be stopped! I want my $2000 back at least
