My 18 year old daughter had the same experience with the email above with the Nanny job and the Toy delivery. She had registered on care.com and the scam artist contacted her this way. Luckily she did not engage or fall for the scheme.

On April 14, 2020, I was caught in a scam purchased Sephora gift cards in the amount of $2000.00. I was to be employed by the family as a NANNY for April 22,2020. The family claimed he is a "Researcher " from Montana and relocating to Delaware due to his job. He had mailed me a check in the amount of $3,860.00 for the toy seller for his daughter. He had told me to keep $500.00 and the rest was for the toy seller. Police report was filed. I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and I contacted Sephora twice about reimbursing my $2000.00 loss of Sephora gift cards.
