My fiancé applied months ago for a position on Indeed. Today, he received a text (310) 881-8323 that stated, "Tommy Wills from Safari Exotic Leather said: Congratulations to you on your resume approve on job post on indeed, click https://garrickjonty.wixsite.com/administrative and confirm your approval.

The site https://garrickjonty.wixsite.com/administrative then says: "I congratulate you on your resume approval, you have been considered for the job offer I posted on indeed website, I believe you can be trusted, with your good understanding to work as my new Personal Secretary. I am Mr. Garrick Jonty, i serve as Director for Safari Exotic Leather in Canada and United States.
This is a flexible position, working with me is basically about instructions and following them. I'm sure you'll understand I tend to have a very busy schedule at this moment as I am presently out of the States for a summit in Vancouver, CA., i will be back in three weeks. I'm convinced you're the right fit for this position.
Please note that this is currently not office based due to my recent travels and schedules. It's a part-time, and you must be aware, there will be busier weeks than others. Do understand that for a start, you will be paid $750.00 weekly. Plus if you are skilled with time management, this job will give you some extra cash while you do something else on the side. I'd want you to get started as soon as possible, i do have few tasks which you can right away assist me with. Permit me to use the week to test your efficiency towards this.
I will get back to you with the task for the new week. I look forward to welcoming you onboard." Underneath, it requests name, address, phone and email.

Pretty sure it's the same scam described above. Steer clear!

Did you cash the check tho? Just got that email

I too recently received an email stating I was hired as Garrick Jontys' Personal Secretary. He claimed to be the Director of TMP Capital. We have never spoke, yet he was "Convinced I was the right person for the job." and would pay me $750.00 weekly. Honestly, I am pretty sure I never even applied for any type of Personal Secretary position. The phone number he provided is 209-280-1612. He then requested all of my personal info, which of course I provided none. Please just be careful out there.

I was misled by an office/personal assistant job posting on Indeed.com. After applying they immediately sent me an email telling me that I had been accepted w/o having an interview or anything and that I would be receiving money to send to orphanages, send package, purchase plane tickets, and a small payment for myself. Unfortunately at the time, I did not realize that this was a scam until I received the same type of email format from a total of four different companies and persons with the same requirements. At this point I ignored that and responded that I'd no longer be interested in the job. After this interaction, I haven't heard back from anyone until today, October 24th, 2019, he'd sent me an email saying that he sent me $2,920.00 to my old address with the tracking number J4625372067 and to keep $700.00 for myself and that after using the money for the orphanage that my next task would to be getting him plane tickets. He then texted my cell three times asking if I'd received the payment. I have not further responded or contacted him and I am now filling complaints with the FTC, BBB, and IC3 as per my fiance's advice. All four of the job emails I had received between September and October had common characteristics such as: the people were between the ages of 50-60; they owned a 'prestigious' company; I should receive between $600.00-$750.00 as my weekly pay; they asked for my personal information (name, email, phone, address); and that they were all on vacation, most commonly in some part of Ontario, Canada. The emails were generated from different addresses with each correspondence, and so far the only person who has continued to message me has been *** *** despite my disinterest and desire to not go through with the job. The number he texted me from was (931) 675-7058, and due to curiosity I blocked my number w/ *67 and called only to see who answered only to find out that it was a Google Voice number from Petersburg, TN. The first email he sent me which was on September 29th, 2019 said "I am the Director of TMP Capital, i also serve as a facilitator for PowerFinancial Associates in Canada and United States to various community service programs." which I am assuming are fake companies. I am ceasing further communication, but I have kept screencaps of of the texts he has sent me and I have saved our original emails and a picture of the check. I cannot find the original job postings on Indeed.com, but the people who have sent me this chain scam have been called *** *** *** *** *** *** *** and the person whom this email is about *** ***. As far as the check that was received at my old address, my grandmother has received it and sent me a picture of it for further documentation. It came from a *** * *** ** *** ** *** *** *** *** with a printed date of October 9th, 2019. Please feel free to contact me at any time for more information.

Thank you for your post. It confirmed what I already suspected with my similar situation.
