Ganassi Foundation Reports & Reviews (2)

I applied to a job posted on indeed “Listing Coordinator position at ERA Doty Real Estate”. I received the following text message from (210) 585-2217:

“Listing Coordinator position at ERA Doty Real Estate. The position you applied for is no longer available. We were impressed with your resume. A client of ours has a similar remote position open if you are available to start right away. Send your resume to [email protected].”

I texted the number about my interest in the job. I received an email response from Rachel Hartshorn with a detailed job description including compensation.

The second email I received was a query about my name, address, phone number etc. I provided a PO Box Address and a Google voice number.

I received another email about how I “successfully passed the checks”.

What checks? I didn't even go through a background check lol. She didn't have my information.

In that email she/he whoever it is asked how I would like to be paid. By bank deposit or Check. Of course I'm not giving you my bank account. I stated make all checks payable to my company name. I knew she was phishing.

Mind you, I never told her my company name.

I received another email stating that she sent me a check in the amount of $2486.00 that I need to deposit into my account NOT cash...and that the funds would not be available right away. Once the funds are available I am to contact her back.

Also, she gave an assignment to find her flights:

“Flights from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Dubai International Airport for the 27th of June to 6th of July(Round Trip, Business Class)

- Type out the information, do not send pictures or link. To make it easy to review and edit.

No preference for airline or Hotel”

Which I rolled my eyes at. Everyone has a preference for a Hotel and airline. Get outta here with that fake request lol.

So I didn't let her know I am on to her. Pretty much said this:

“Your job sounds so interesting I want to learn more about it, and the charities your involved with. It sounds so exciting to work with a company like that and I'll be giving your company Ganassi Foundation a call on Monday to learn more about it. Who should I ask to speak with? Could you provide your Directors name and contact info so that I can reach out to them? That would be great.

If you could also provide me with your direct phone number so that I can reach you with questions and problems arise that would be great. Also, what mailing address should I contact you at when forwarding documents to you?

I'd love to here more details about you so that I can provide a fine tuned personal assistance experience.”

I haven't heard anything back yet since it's only been about an hour since she emailed me. I'll be turning whatever shows up in my PO Box into the police or FBI.

It is sad that whoever is doing this is using real company names and real people's photos and titles to scam others like this. People just want a job.

Plot Twist: I'm a Private Investigator.
Shhhhhh... She doesn't know this.

Y'all be careful out there!

There was a job on indeed for Ho'Brah Tacos, a real company. I plus 400+ other people applied. I receieved an email later saying I was not selected but they have a client who is hiring for the same position.

They say to contact [email protected]. I do and I receive an email saying she is an executive for the ganassi foundation and that she needs a personal assistant. The pay was supposed to be $1040 a week and I only had to send flight and hotel information and make donations on her behalf. My first assignment was to send details on flights/hotels from toronto to dubai Jun 20 - 26, which I quickly did. I also sent my direct deposit info at this time. She (Rachel Hartshorn) said she would mail me a check from one of her clients so I could pay for the trip. I recieved a check the next day and thats when I started noticing red flags. First the package was from "Royal Business Development Inc" and then the check was from ***** Engineering in Kentucky, a real company. I then went to gannasifoundation.org to verify the company before I continued. After reverse image searching the pictures of the exectives of the ganassi foundation I found that the pictures were stolen from realtors at ********* ********. I could not find anyone at the company on linkedin either. I then took the check to the bank and told them it was likely fake which they confirmed to be true. My bank closed my account to protect my funds at this point.

Another key piece of information I found was that on mobile, ganassifoundation.org redirects to regensteinfoundation.org, another scam that used the same tactics in the past. At this point I went back to the initial indeed posting for ho'brah tacos and saw it had been taken down for not being legitmate.
