On 12/12/2016 I received a call on my husbands phone , when I answered the Female identified herself as Mary being with Publishers Clearing House . She stated I had Won the 5,000 a week for life and a 2017 Chev , Tahoo , she instructed me to stay on my husbands cell phone and get dressed in nice clothes because the Prize Patrol was just down the road from my house waiting to deliver my vehicle and present me with first 5,000 check followed by a 5,000 dollar check once a week for the rest of my life . I do play Publishers Clearing House so I thought this was true . Mary said after I got dressed to go to my closest Wal-Mart and get a Send Money Gram addressed to Dennis Mote Al on form she said the destination company was Gabsden , Al . The amount of money Mary said I was to send was 380.00 for and this had to be sent to above address for the amount of Tax's on my Winnings Thinking this was true I got as far as Marion Wal-Mart and got to the Customer Service Counter and saw a sign saying ' Do not send money to sweepstakes etc . The entire time Mary told me to remain on the phone and not to tell no one what I was doing ..I turned and left and made up a story about how the internet at Wal-Mart was down and that they told me they could not send Money Grams at this time , I proceeded back to my truck and she instructed me to go to the next closest Wal-Mart and she would wait on the phone she then ask me if I wanted to hear my new tahoo 's horn honk and she proceeded to do so , she said if I told anyone what I was doing I would have to pay more money . Mary said she had spoke to another winner in Carterville and she also said the internet at Wal-Mart was down since I made that up this is when I knew for sure it was a scam . With Mary still on the ohone thinking I was driving to the next Wal-Mart I procede to Marion Police Station and informed the officer what was going on he could hear her on my phone I handed the phone to him she thought he was my husband and explained to him we had won and gave him the same instruction after she was done explaining the Police officer said to Mary this is Officer ????? " Why are you scamming these people " she yelled profanity and the officer hung up & told me it was a scam and to not ever send money to someone I didn't know
