I received a call from an unknown number stating she was a courier and was going to be coming to our house to have legal documents to be signed for my husband. That he wa s being sued and she didn't know the information but gave me another number that would have the information about what it was regarding. She gave me a reference number as well. I called the number she provided 401-515-2349 and someone picked up named Ryan Bennington he asked for my reference number and stated he would send me to the legal department to further explain. Then I spoke with a Sean Sanders he told me my husband was being sued by a company called HSBC and that we would settle over phone for 1500 but if we went to court it would be 3911.22 due to court fees and lawyers. He knew my husbands SSN and our address. I asked how I would know if this was a scam he told me to look up company I did and found nothing he told me to call back about whether we wanted to pay over phone or go to court. I called him back told him I wanted documentation sent to the house if this was true and I never found his company online he said they were located in New York and could generate numbers from all states. We pulled my husband credit and found nothing on there about any credit cards or debts at all. It seemed so real to me because they had all the right information and knew his full SSN. They said all the right things, they were calm and were being polite. I spoke with a lawyers office just in case since I have a family friend that works there and they told me this was fraud and if they call back tell them I filed a report on them.
