I messaged an individual on Facebook marketplace (by the name of Ryker) who claimed to be giving away a grand piano that his deceased wife owned since he was leaving and didn't have a need for it. I messaged expressing interest. He got back to me the next day and told me his movers were already ordered to move the piano but that they could drop it off if I talked to their customer service and paid for that piece of the moving costs. I contacted the customer service and gave the reference code he gave me. They gave me different priority/pricing options and I chose the cheapest option of $578.92 and delivered in 10 days. They told me to pay via Zelle or Venmo. I tried Venmo at first (to @randall-hall-715073) but the app blocked it (probably what should have been a red flag). I then tried Zelle, (to [email protected]) and had mentioned it was capped at $500. They said it was fine and to send proof of payment to [email protected] and that I would pay the rest upon delivery. I did so and was provided a tracking number (FPI-095189669257-CARGO). The day before expected delivery I reached out to their support saying I had not received any info on expected time for delivery. They sent me an email saying their was an accident and that I actually owed them money to cover the accident and then they would deliver my piano. I replied I owed nothing and would report them. I have not heard back from them since.
