I am an office manager for a doctor's office in Baltimore. We received a letter from Fred Lucas indicating he is an account manager with TD Canada Trust Bank. It advises that our physician is the next of kin to a deceased customer who died in 2009. He states he has monitored the account and no one has come forth with a claim. He also advised "If we do not make a claim to the funds now, the funds would be reverted back to the system as an unclaimed estate at the expiration of a 10 year dormancy period as approved."

For the question: Did this scam target an individual or business? - Clarification: I chose Individual, but letter was sent to a business for a particular individual. I am the office manager for the individual targeted in this scam and reporting the scam on his behalf.

He provides a fax number of 888-837-2688. He also provides an email of [email protected].

I attached a copy of the letter received. I also included a copy of the envelope (didn't know if the postmark would help in the investigation).
