- Bangor, ME, USA • Apr 09, 2024

I was contacted by the scammers through email and told i would be interviewed for a job as a data entry analyst. They told me i had to download an app called signal. After the interview questions where done the following day they had told me that i had gotten the job and that i had to deposit a check of 1850.00 into my account for the equipment that i needed for the job. After printing it out and had deposited the the check via mobil bank app they told me that as soon as the funds where available to contact them. On April 9th, 2024 my bank (bangor savings bank, hammond street location in bangor maine) had cleared the check to be used. I contacted them and was instructed to add it to my cash app and send it to a martin farabaugh which i did. And then they tried to have me deposit another check of 3150.00 which i didnt only to call my bank and find out that the check was a fake check. And now my account is in the minus of 1850.00 dollars. And being told that the bank cant do anything about it and being forced to pay it back.
